Nilesh Narayan Rane is an Indian politician and the current Cabinet Minister for Industries, Employment and Self-Employment in the Government of Maharashtra. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a former member of the Shiv Sena. Rane was born on 17 March 1981 in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. He is the son of Narayan Rane, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress. He completed his schooling from Ratnagiri and then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mumbai. Rane began his political career in 2009 when he joined the Shiv Sena. He was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2009 from Kudal constituency. He was re-elected in 2014 and served as the Minister of Industries, Employment and Self-Employment in the Government of Maharashtra. In 2019, Rane joined the BJP and was appointed as the Cabinet Minister for Industries, Employment and Self-Employment in the Government of Maharashtra.
