Hernando Avilés was born in Puerto Rico on 1 February, 1914. He was a singer and composer who was known for his romantic boleros and guarachas. He was a member of the Puerto Rican musical group Los Panchos, and was also a solo artist. Avilés began his musical career in the 1940s, performing with various groups in Puerto Rico. In the 1950s, he joined Los Panchos, a popular trio of singers and guitarists. With Los Panchos, Avilés recorded several albums and toured extensively throughout Latin America and the United States. In the 1960s, Avilés left Los Panchos and began a solo career. He released several albums, including "Hernando Avilés y Su Orquesta" (1962), "Hernando Avilés y Su Conjunto" (1965), and "Hernando Avilés y Su Orquesta" (1966). He also wrote and composed several songs, including "La Ultima Copa" and "La Ultima Noche". Hernando Avilés died on 8 April, 1997 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was 83 years old.
